This event is held at Mavericks Mason, 1065 Reading Rd. Mason OH, 45040
The Mavericks Cup is a new tourament series that is made by players, for players. We've designed these events to have incredible payout, which means that most, if not all of the money we take in goes toward tournament fees and a larger prize pool.
This event is MTG Modern. We will be playing 50 minute best of three swiss rounds based on the number of players in the event. Following the swiss rounds we will have a cut to Top 8 with single elimination matches. Prizing goes to the Top 16 players, however, only 1 competitor can take home the Mavericks Cup! (We will have a REAL trophy for first place.)
This event is run at competetive rules enforcement. In addition, decklists will be required for this event.
We want to make sure everyone is staying safe at our event so face masks and some form of proof of covid vaccine or negative test result will be required for players.
This event is sponsored by Jet's Pizza! During the event we will be selling slices of Jet's Pizza as well as giving out some Jet's Pizza door prizes!
For paper printouts generated for this tournament, participants' names will be displayed using their full real names, irrespective of their profile's name display settings. This specification applies solely to printed materials.
This event is held at competetive rules enforcement, thus players will be held to that standard of play. Decklists will be rquired for this event. PLayers will have the option to appeal any ruling given by a floor judge to the head judge of the event, but the head judge's ruling is final.
In addition to our typical rules for events, due to the pandemic we will be requiring that all players wear face masks fully at all times as well as have some form of proof of vaccination or recent negative test resut for Covid-19. Any player that breaks either of these rules will be disqualified from the event.
This event is on Saturday, Febuary 26th. The event will be starting at 11:00 AM EST.
The organizer has agreed to pay out prizes in 14 days or less.
This event is paying out $5,000 in cash prizes, prizing goes down to the top 16 players. Here is the prize structure for the event:
- 1st Place - $1,200
- 2nd Place - $800
- 3rd / 4th Place - $400
- 5th / 8th Place - $300
- Top 16 - $125
