IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ INFO BELOW WHEN JOINING:

BO3 HISTORIC BRAWL IS PRETTY MUCH AN UNSUPPORTED FORMAT IN MTG MELEE/ARENA SO THERE ARE WORKAROUNDS WE HAVE TO DO TO MAKE THIS WORK

DECK SUBMISSION:

MTG Melee doesn't have Historic Brawl as an option so deck submission is being registered as freeform decks. There will be no commander zone in Melee for that option so you must enter your commander in the SIDEBOARD instead (ON MTG MELEE ONLY).

I encourage players to join the discord to communicate via the tournament page for questions as playing a Historic Brawl in tournament form is kind of tricky since it's not very supported on Arena and Melee platform.

We decided to do BO3 Historic Brawl to mitigate BO1 feels bad variance even though there is no actual sideboards since Arena doesn't support Brawl like that.

Make sure to do this as MTG Arena doesn't give you the option to do a best of three Historic Brawl match:

We will be simulating bo3 Historic matches essentially by doing TWO/THREE best of one Historic Brawl direct challenges with your opponent.

First game challenge each other using Challenge Match, Deck Type Brawl (defaults to Best of one), Coin Flip. Additional games repeat but the person who lost the previous game of the Round decides who will play first. Best using Friends Challenge.

The winner of game 1 will choose to pass game 2 if given the choice. And the winner of game 2 will pass if given the choice game 3.

Open Decklists.

4 rounds of swiss then a cut to the top X players depending on player count as follows: Under 25 Players - Cut to top 2 (3rd and 4th place prizes would be decided at the end of round 4 based on mtgmelee standings) 25-39 Players - Cut to top 4 playoffs 40+ - Cut to top 8 playoffs

All players are expected to follow the Wizards Code of Conduct. Any breach of it could result in disqualification and/or a ban from future events.
