Join us this Sunday for a fun debut of a new format, MTGA Vintage Pauper.

Enjoy playing with classic cards like Lightning Bolt, Delver of Secrets, Doom Blade, and Counterspell? Tired of digital cards in Historic Pauper? Or are you missing the thrill of Paper Pauper on MTG Arena? Then this event is for you.

You must be a member of the MTGA Pauper Discord server to participate. Registered players who are not members will be dropped.

  • Players must belong to the MTGA Pauper Discord server in order to participate. This is required, not optional.
  • The card pool is anything printed at common on paper that exists on MTGA. In other words, Paper Pauper with no banlist. The philosophy is to get as close to paper as possible, but the cards banned in paper don’t have enough support to warp the MTGA format. Full list of legal cards
  • Digital and rebalanced cards are not a part of the above definition so they are not legal. List of all Historic Pauper cards that are NOT LEGAL in the vintage pauper event
  • As already mentioned, there is no banlist. This may change for future events.
  • Downshifted commons from Double Masters 2022 that exist on MTGA are Legal. Full list of downshifts
  • Decks must consist of 60 cards with up to 15 sideboard cards. It is suggested to format your MTGA deck as a Limited deck (not rebalanced)
  • Matches will be played using either Friend or Direct Challenge using the Limited Tournament Match option.
  • To inaugurate this new format, there will be 4 Swiss rounds, regardless of turnout.
