Welcome to Tournament #1 of The Jankyard Historic Pauper Super Series. This event will be a series of Historic Pauper tournaments, held at different times over the course of several weeks.
Players' results will be accumulated over the course of the series, although you don't have to participate in all of the events. There will be a variety of start times to allow players from different parts of the world to participate.
The players points from each round will accumulate and there will be bonus points - 5 bonus points for finishing as the top ranked in a tournament, 3 bonus points for finishing second-ranked in a tournament, and 1 bonus point for finishing third and fourth in a tournament.
After the conclusion of the series, the Top 8 will playoff in a one-day, single elimination tournament to determine the Super Series champion.
You can register right up to start time on the day of the tournament. The event is free and open to anyone.
Please be sure to check in before start time to confirm you are present in MTGMelee. Information for the event, including your matchups for each round, will be posted under your player controller on MTGMelee. Please do not refresh your player controller, it will update on its own.
Information about the event will also be posted on The Jankyard's Tournament Town Discord channel: https://discord.gg/Y6VSbXC. You can post information and ask questions there under #sunday-tournament-announcements.
We will be hosting The Jankyard stream as part of the tournament at http://www.twitch.tv/jankyardmtg. The stream goes live 30 to 60 minutes before the start of the event. We can provide support for getting signed up to the event during that pre-event time. You can watch the stream during the event as JT, the host of The Jankyard, will be streaming his games during the event and may join some players via Discord if he is not playing to commentate on their matches. Information during the event will also be posted on the stream. You do not have to join the stream to play in the tournament but it is a fun way to interact with JT and your fellow competitors.
Each round will start shortly after pairings are posted. Please challenge your opponent on MTG Arena using their full Arena name and #. For example, JT's is The_Jankyard#49252. You then do this by friending your opponent first and then issuing a friend challenge. If your opponent has not responded after 10 minutes, please let organizers know through MTGMelee. Don't forget to check in for each round in your player controller.
Once your match is over, the winner is asked to please report the result on MTGMelee. The other player will be asked to confirm the result. If you wish to drop, you can do so on your Player Controller page on MTGMelee.
The Jankyard moves its tournaments along quickly and starts the next round right after the last match of the previous round ends, so don't go away and pay close attention to announcements of the start of the next round.
Decklists are required for this event.
This will be in the Historic Pauper format. All matches will be Best of 3. Create your deck as a Traditional Historic deck to ensure access to your full 15 card sideboard.
There will be four rounds in each Super Series event, regardless of number of players.
Historic Pauper only permits commons from all of Arena.
Banlist is as follows:
- Persistent Petitioners
- Ancestral Mask
Challenge your opponent to a Historic Tournament Best-of-3 match.
