Tournament Format

Standard 2022, Best of 3, Open decklists, Swiss with a cut to Top 8 Play/Draw decisions in the Top 8 will be made according to final Swiss standings

Directly challenge your opponent using the MTG Arena “TOURNAMENT MATCH” challenge option.

Special Rule - The Book of Exalted Deeds/Faceless Haven

We'd like to remind all players that this is a Best of 3 tournament, which means The Book of Exalted Deeds and Faceless Haven combo is legal and should be considered when submitting your decklist.

We are also implementing a special rule for this event - If both players are able to successfully assemble the Book/Haven combo and neither player has an answer to the combo in their deck, the player with more time on their clock will win that game and the player with less time will concede. We encourage both players to take a screenshot of the timers when the second player resolves their combo, in order to avoid any misunderstanding/debate regarding the proper outcome. This rule is to avoid the terrible gameplay experience that would be two players passing back and forth to see who can run down their 30 minute timer more slowly.

Tournament Rules

Players must “Check-in” to every round. Simply click the green button to check-in to your match.

You will have 5 minutes to check-in and start your matches. You will receive a game penalty if you don’t start communicating with an admin or your opponent 5 minutes after the round is paired. If you still haven’t communicated with an admin or your opponent 10 minutes after the round starts then you will receive a match loss.

Once your match has ended, ensure that you take screenshots of your match result showing both players’ names. If there are any discrepancies in the match results, an admin may ask you for this as proof of your result. Then submit the match results in your Player Controller.

In case there is an issue with your match, use the “Contact Tournament Staff” feature to select your issue and submit your ticket. The TGS staff will be in contact with you as quickly as possible.
