We will be hosting Magic for Old Guys stream as part of the tournament at https://www.twitch.tv/MagicforOldGuys. The stream goes live an shortly before the tournament starts. We can provide support for getting signed up to the event during that pre-event time. You can watch the host stream during the event as the Old Guy (Vlad07720 or Vlad the Transparent) will be streaming his games during the event and may join some players via Discord if he is not playing to commentate on their matches. You do not have to join the stream to play in the tournament but it is a fun way to interact with the Old Guy and your fellow competitors.

Please challenge your opponent on MTG Arena using their full Arena name and #. For example, the Old Guys' is Vlad the Transparent#02707. Due to recent issues with MTG Arena, please attempt to friend your opponent first to challenge them that way. If your opponent has not responded after 10 minutes, please let organizers know through MTGMelee. Don't forget to check in for each round in your player controller.

Once your match is over, the winner is asked to please report the result on MTGMelee. The other player will be asked to confirm the result. If you wish to drop, you can do so on your Player Controller page on MTGMelee at anytime.

Also, we offer another fun piece of interaction involving Discord. When you see your matchup MTGMelee, you can go to the voice channel on the Tournament Town Discord that corresponds with your table in the tournament. If you and your opponent both go into the voice channel, you can banter back and forth just like you were playing in a paper tournament.

Players who compete bring a wide range of experience and abilities. All players are welcome, from absolute competitive Magic rookies, to seasoned vets with multiple Mythics.

This is Type: Bo3

First game challenge each other using Challenge Match, Deck Type Drawl (defaults to Best of one), Coin Flip. Additional games repeat but the person who lost the previous game of the Round decides who will play first. Best using Friends Challenge.

Please submit a Standard Brawl decklist. (Valid Standard Brawl decklist according to current MTGMelee.com)

As we are using Standard Brawl as the format. You can submit your decklist by clicking export on your decklist on Arena and then importing when you go to submit your decklist. That imports your entire list so you don't have to add each card one at a time. You may have to put your Commander into the sideboard to have 60 cards.

HOW TO PLAY BRAWL Choose your champion! Brawl is a little like Standard, a little like Commander, and a uniquely exciting deck-brewing challenge. Build a deck around a specific legendary creature or planeswalker from the Standard card pool, and battle against friends in one-on-one or multiplayer free-for-all games.

YOUR DECK commander card (any legendary creature or planeswalker from a set currently in Standard) 59 other cards (also from sets currently in Standard) Only one copy of any card, except for basic lands The color identity of all cards in your deck must fall within the color identity of your commander (color identity encompasses colored mana symbols in both the card's cost and its rules text—for example, Shalai, Voice of Plenty's color identity is green-white).

Exception: if your commander is colorless, you can play unlimited copies of any one type of basic land.

QUICK FACTS COLOR IDENTITY A card's color identity is not quite the same as a card's color: it can come from any part of that card, including its casting cost and any mana symbols in its rules text. Every card in your Brawl deck must only use mana symbols that also appear on your commander. (Colorless cards are allowed in any deck.)

Kazarov, Sengir Pureblood has a black mana cost and an activated ability that requires red mana. Kazarov, Sengir Pureblood's color identity is black and red.

Lifecrafter's Bestiary is a colorless artifact with a triggered ability that requires green mana. So Lifecrafter's Bestiary's color identity is green.

COMMAND ZONE This is the special game zone where your commander resides when it is not in play. Each commander starts the game face up in its controller's command zone. A commander can be cast from the command zone, as though it were in your hand, for its normal costs, plus an additional two mana for each previous time it's been cast from the command zone this game. If your commander would change zones (i.e., be put into your library, hand, graveyard, or exile from anywhere), you may return it to your command zone instead.

STANDARD Any card that appears in a Standard-legal Magic set (with the exception of the banned cards listed below) can be put into a Brawl deck.

BRAWL BANNED CARDS The following cards are banned in Brawl and cannot be included in your deck or used as your commander: Sorcerous Spyglass Oko, Thief of Crowns Golos, Tireless Pilgrim Winota, Joiner of Forces Lutri, the Spellchaser Drannith Magistrate Note: The regular Standard banned list does not apply to Brawl. If a card from a Standard-legal set isn't listed here, it's fine to use.

Players must be registered and decklists submitted 5 minutes before the first round. Round time limit is 50 minutes.

If all matches in a round are complete, the next round will start early. Matches can be paired as either a direct challenge or a friend request and challenge.

Match settings: Challenge match, Brawl, Best of 1, coin flip. Second and third matches the person who lost the previous round selects who goes forst (Coin Flip)

No shows: Players have 10 minutes to respond to challenges and begin their match. After that 10 minutes a player will be given a game loss. After another 5 minutes a player will be given a round loss and dropped from the event.

If a player disconnects from a match the player that did not disconnect has the choice of replaying the game or taking a game win.

Players can report their own score.

Because this is an online tournament we ask you to respect the starting time. if any player in a match takes longer than 15 mins to check into their match they will have conceded that round and if such happens again, will be removed from the event.

Please make sure you are able to attend in your own time zone.

Thank you and have fun.

At the end of the Four Rounds undefeated players will be able to claim a $10 (USD) Gift certificate to Jiffy CCG. Please Whisper me on Twitch with you mailing address.

Must be a US residence to receive Gift Certificate.

If there are no undefeated players at the end of four rounds, the winner will be the player first in standings based on tiebreakers.

There MUST be at least four rounds played to be eligible for the prize.
