Participation and Acceptance
By playing in the Extra Life United MTGA event (“Event”), the player agrees to adhere to these rules at all times. The player must be over the age of 13.
MTG Arena Accounts
Each player may only use the contents of their personal MTG Arena account when participating in the Event. Decklists must be submitted beforehand, and all cards contained within must be available in the account of the player competing. Using an incorrect or different deck than the one submitted will be penalized according to tournament policy.
Tournament Policies
We will use the Digital MTR and Digital IPG documents to govern the Event.
Enforcement
DreamHack and its Event Partners will have sole responsibility for enforcing these rules for all Players and have the authority to hand out penalties to Players for any violations accordingly.
MTG Arena Known Issues and Disconnects
Players should review the known issues in MTG Arena prior to participation in sanctioned digital events. DreamHack and its Event Partners are not responsible for impact on game and match results as a result of players experiencing known issues.
DreamHack and its Event Partners are not responsible for the results of any disconnection or network problems experienced by players.
Outside Assistance
During matches, players may not seek play advice from spectators and spectators may not give play advice to players. Reports of players receiving outside assistance will be investigated and penalties (up to and including disqualification) will be assigned. Players who receive unsolicited outside assistance from another player or spectator are expected to report the incident to tournament officials and submit any supporting evidence of attempts to provide outside assistance.
Amendments
DreamHack and its Event Partners reserve the right to update, revise, or modify these rules from time to time. All players’ participation in the Event after any modification to these rules will signify acceptance of any modifications.

Format
The Extra Life United MTGA will use the Standard Constructed format on MTG Arena. The current banlist for Standard can be found here.
Deck Submission
Players must submit Standard-legal decks via the MTG Melee Player Controller (available after registration) no later than Saturday, April 24 at 1:45 p.m. Seattle time (PDT).
Players who fail to submit a decklist before the event begins will be automatically dropped from the tournament.
Strixhaven will be legal for this event.
Tournament Structure
Matches are best two-out-of-three games Standard Constructed
All rounds of competition use Tournament Match Direct Challenge settings via Direct Challenge in MTG Arena, which means:
- 30-minute time banks for player priority are enforced in-client.
- Timers are on.
- Matches are best two-out-of-three games.
- Players should double-check to ensure they have not selected "Tournament Match – Limited", or "Challenge Match" in Direct Challenge settings.
Players must challenge their opponent by the time the round has officially started based on the time provided by the tournament organizer.
Players who have not been able to begin their match and who have received communication from their opponent should contact a tournament admin once the round has begun.
At the end of 60 minutes, tournament admins will message players who have not yet reported their match and players still in a match are expected to respond to the admin's message to confirm they are still playing.
Day One: Swiss Rounds (Play Until 2 Losses)
- First Round will begin at 2:00 p.m. PDT (14:00) on April 24, 2021
- Number of rounds will be determined by attendance
- Players will be dropped after receiving their second Match loss
- There will be a cut to Top 16 based on standings after the Swiss
Day Two: Single-Elimination Bracket Playoff
- First Round will begin at 10:00 a.m. PDT (10:00) on April 25, 2021
- Players for Top 16 are determined and seeded by standings at the end of the Swiss Rounds
- The higher seed for all matches may choose to play or draw in Game 1 of their matches.

Donation Payout
The Top 16 Players after the Single Elimination Bracket will have the following amounts donated to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital that they chose upon registration:
- 1st: $5,000
- 2nd: $4,500
- 3rd: $4,000
- 4th: $3,500
- 5th-6th: $3,000
- 7th-8th: $2,500
- 9th-10th: $2,000
- 11th-12th: $1,750
- 13th-14th: $1,500
- 15th-16th: $750
Donations will be made to the participant’s Extra Life 2021 participant page after 5/1/2021. Prize winnings will not activate fundraising incentives.
Gem Payout
In addition to the above prizes, players will earn codes redeemable for Gems in MTG Arena based on their final standings after the Swiss Rounds. Gems will be awarded in the following amounts:
- 1st-16th: 10,000 Gems
- 17th-32nd: 5,000 Gems
- 33rd-64th: 3,000 Gems
- 65th-128th: 1,500 Gems
- 129th-150th: 1,000 Gems
Winners will be contacted by the admins once the tournament has concluded.
Your name, email, and gamer tag, will be retained for one year for the use of tournament running, prize payment information collection, and to facilitate successful prize money distribution.
