Premodern is a community-created constructed format consisting of the sets from Fourth Edition to Scourge. The card pool thus roughly spans the period inbetween the formats 93/94 and Modern. A rule of thumb for the card pool is: all cards with the old frame printed between 1995 and 2003, which were standard legal at some point during this period. See the list of all legal sets here, or you can browse the entire card pool here.
An underlying idea is that the format should be a home for iconic and fun cards that don't see play in other formats—either because their relative power level has withered over time, or because they are not tournament legal due to their interactions with newer cards.

Did you know that if you have Amazon Prime and you link it to your Twitch account, you get a FREE sub to the channel of your choice? Just sayin'.
Everything happens in your "Player Controller" page.
Pairings will be announced in the form of a notification, voice notification, SMS notification (if you activate it in your profile settings) and your player controller page will display your pairing in the "Current Pairing" section.
You will have 10 minutes to check-in and start your matches. You will be dropped if you don't start communicating with an admin or your opponent 10 minutes after round is paired. Pay attention to all notifications throughout the tournament.
The MTGO timer will display 40 mins for each players, however, we don't want more than 50 minutes rounds, with that said: If a player's MTGO timer goes below 15:00, that player loses the match regardless of the game score. Please take a screenshot in the event that this happens. That means each player will have 25 minutes each.
Players will be contacted an hour after the start of the round regarding the status of their match if the result is not yet reported. If there is no response within 10 minutes both will be dropped.
Because we are using the ''Freeform'' format on MTGO, you can submit less than 60 cards, but if you do so, you will receive a game loss. Please don't.
Any types of connection issue, bugs, anything related to your game crashing/not functioning properly will not result in restarting the match. If it happens to you and only you, it is your fault, it is unfortunately the only to deal with this in a fair way. Anything else will be dealt with in a civilized and fair fashion.
Refer to the Digital Tournament Rules and Digital Infraction Guide for more information.
Problem with your match? Talk to an admin using the chat tab in the bottom right corner.
Issues with MTGMelee? Contact us via our Discord server as a last resort!
In the event that there is a dispute between players, we may ask for a screenshot in order to better understand a situation, or as a way to have proof that something is occurring. We also highly-recommend that you take a screenshot of every Victory screen when playing in a tournament, showing both players’ names; in the event of a dispute over which player won a match, these screenshots will generally act as concrete-proof of a victory.
